Default Unable to load A36, FS9 crashes to desktop

    Hi Lou,
Am using WinXP, installed with all security software disabled.
I have installed, uninstalled (twice) just to make sure.
Followed all directions correctly (I belive!)
I dont get any error msgs - after about 1 minute the CD starts up and the FS9 error msg comes on regarding restart.
I have never had a problem with any DF aircraft before this is somewhat similar to the Meridian when first released... dont even remember what that was about now - maybe that trainer thingy...
Please help! Been waiting for this plane for a while and now it cant even load it - LOL
    Thanks Folks!

    Ted Panamarioff - Kodiak Alaska

Have you tried loading the default flight, then switching to the A36?

I assume you restarted your system after the install?

How about going into your XP Event Viewer and seeing what application errors are described related to FS9. Usually it may describe a gauge error or DLL error or something that can get us on the right track.

    Hi Todd,
Thanks for getting back to me quickly!
I always load the FS default flight and a/c and I did several reboots just to make sure.
I am not familiar with the XP event viewer you've mentioned; please explain.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Ted,

There have been a few instances where the GNS430 Trainer hasn't installed properly. Can you run the Trainer outside of FS2004 ? If not, try re-installing it, but to a "simple" location such as C:\Garmin.

As for the Event Viewer, this should help:

To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer.

For information about using Event Viewer, in Event Viewer, on the Action menu, click Help.

Hi guys, I have the same problem.

Except, I get no error message whatsoever, FS just closes instantly and brings me back to my desktop upon selecting the A36. Normally, I'd be able to select time season/weather and all that in the next screen, but I always crash back to desktop.

Just re-installed FS completely, and I didn't mind doing it actually (just as long as I don't need to again for a while). Same problem persists upon re-installing my A36 (darn!). I installed everything correctly, and the trainer seems to work fine (outside FS2004). I'll try selecting the A36 already with the default ac/flight loaded and see what happens.

Edit: Just tried loading the A36 from the default flight and it didn't work.. However, I did get an error message this time. I took a look at the report and fatal error was caused by this:

    ModName: rxpgns430.dll

    Looks like a GPS issue.

I'm in the same boat here - double install, firewall off, default a/c loaded (even any other a/c loaded) - all ok - select B36, CTD, no blue loading line. Garmin trainer runs OK outside FS.
Selecting the B36 from the start menu and it's a CTD as soon as fly now button pressed.

    Coul you all confirm please:

    1) you have installed the A36 and you are running FS9 with an admin account (or an account with admin priviledges)?

    2) during the installation of the Reality XP gauges for the A36, the installer properly located your current FS9 installation folder and prompted you with this folder already and correctly set in the edit box (the edit box asking you for the installation path)?

    3) if 2) was not what you have had, have you manually selected the fs9 installation folder as the dstination folder, and not anything else, like [fs9]\my_rxp_install or similar?

    4) you have installed the Trainer, in the recommended folder in case of failure, i.e. C:\GNS430 ?

    Hi Todd,
I too have tried all of what you mention.
I cant count how installs I've done now +10 at least!
I have the FS9 update, all XP updates are current, 256mb nVidia card, all up to date, sufficient system and resources...
The trainer runs just fine... I followed your advice and installed into C\Garmin anyway... no joy.
Here's what the event viewer says for all the events:

The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Microsoft Flight Simulator 9.0 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: fs9.exe, 9.1.0.40901, rxpgns430.dll, 5.0.0.0, 0000f9f9.

Hmmmm now what? #####... I've waited for months for this plane...
I did manage to set it up using another panel... but hey... thats not what I bought it for!
    Thanks,

Ted Panamarioff - Kodiak Alaska... hey at least its sunny here!

    Hi Jean Luc,
    Yeah...
1)Got full privlidges - admin level
2)Used the default suggested install path for gauges
3)All default locations - the only exception was to install trainer to C\Garmin - only after 7 previous installs
    4)as above
    Thanks,

    Ted Panamarioff

Just did the whole thing all over again...
same thing from the event viewer:

The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Microsoft Flight Simulator 9.0 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: fs9.exe, 9.1.0.40901, rxpgns430.dll, 5.0.0.0, 0000f9f9.

I see that it might be something to do with the GNS430?
Hope someone can figure this out!
    Thanks,

Ted Panamarioff - sunny Kodiak Alaska
