Thread: Anyone using the new CIVA INS 1.50?

  1. Default Anyone using the new CIVA INS 1.50?

It looks like you can convert FS9 flight plans into a format CIVA can read into the INS with the new version.

Has anyone installed this new version yet? any issues?

...mmmh I don't think so. The news is that you can save a flight plan that you've already typed on the INS, but not to import a FS9 flight plan directly to the the INS (at least that's what Marco told me).

Thanks for the reply... so are there any issues with upgrading anyway?

It bugs me to know that I am not using the latest software ;)

No at all. The only things is that now you are allowed to save the first 9 waypoints of a trip for later use. It's a nice feature although I peronsally don't use it.

I installed the new version of the INS this week and have been flying her without any problems at all.

I installed it and it works fine for me too

I should have asked if anyone has included the ADEU (Automatic Data Entry Unit) into the panel config for the DF727. That is the unit that allows the 9 waypoints to be added to the INS without manually entering each one. I would use FSBuild to create the plan and the use FS9toCIVA to convert it to a format CIVA can read then load it via the ADEU

If you refer to page 9 in the <FS Root>\CIVA\Docs\GaugesUserManual.pdf it mentions how the unit is used and a picture of it.

Take a look when you have time guys

I really wanted to try out this new feature so I read the manuals added the ADEU units to the panel.cfg in the <FS Root>Aircraft\Flight One 727\Panel.01 folder.

I don't use the VC so it is not added there and I only fly with the Fedex livery so Panel.01 made sense for me.

Here is a copy of the edited panel.cfg and a screenshot of the gauge.

I just purchased the 727 and having a great time flying her! I wanted to try the INS system and installed the civa150 stuff then the meatwater ins4df727v2.5.

The gauge looks great but I don't see the top part for alignment etc. What am I missing? And the guage as intalled does not power up. In fact I cannot find a switch to turn it on. Thanks in advance.

    Bob..

    Doh!

Sometimes it just pays to look UP. The power heads are located on the overhead. In the words of Gilda Radnor..... nevermind. :)
