Thread: engine fire probability

    Default engine fire probability

I am curious: If I set the failure probabilities to the setting one dot above "none", what is the probability of actually having a failure?

Still greater than it would be in real life! :-lol

Honestly, I don't know. Paul put that bloody feature in!

Besides, Jeremy, if we told you the probability, that would take all the fun out of it! ;-)

Reality: Most pilots go through their entire careers without ever experiencing and engine failure / fire / etc.

So, ya' set yur setting, and take yur chances!

My response is all in good fun, yet it is quite accurate!

I has at least 3 engine fires and 1 brake failure since the 727 released. Is there anyone had two engine failures in same flight?

    Good queston- the probability factor.
Actually my father had two engine failures flying 33 years for a major airline and I had one engine failure flying for a regional. Not to mention some other equipment emergencies or failures. lr.

  7. Default RE: engine fire probability

For your info, I selected the lowest setting for brake failure and engine fire: Had a brake failure at flight no. 12 and an engine fire at flight no. 22. lr.

I had a brake failure on the 3 or 4 flight, but I discovered it before takeoff and aborted the flight.
