Thread: Does fs2004 battery run flat ?

Default Does fs2004 battery run flat ?

    Hi All
Do you guys remember that famous problem in fs2002 where the battery would run flat really quickly? (fixed by using fsuipc and extending the battery life).
Well, I'm not using fsuipc with fs2004 and I find that when I'm taking my time with all the cockpit preparations that something "funny" happens with the electrics. I can't change the radio frequencies, can't test the stall warner sound and can't even start the engines. Eventually, after a few minutes, the fuel quantity displays go blank. All this time I'm running on the APU (even tried fixing it by moving to ground power -no luck).
Any ideas? (has this been fixed in the service pack for fs2004 perhaps?)
    Thanks
    Jono :-hmmm

This is a known issue and they are working on it.

Untill it gets fixed...try reloading the same 727. I've found it normally picks up where I left off, but with full electric.

or start 1 engine early on (not very realistic, but it works)

The best work around is to have FSUIPC. :-)

As you are using a very detailed flight model, I recommend to registrate the FSUIPC.

Are you sure FSUIPC will work to fix this? Because the DF 727 guys are saying this is NOT the "normal" battery drain problem. In fact, although the radio and some of the instruments don't work, others do.....

FS2004 does indeed have the battery drain bug, and the registered version of FSUIPC will fix it.

I've encountered no similar power problems on the 727 using FSUIPC with the battery fix enabled.

    Hi,

no even with FSUIPC you mabe will have the same problem. I´m using FSUIPC with its Battery trick. Look down at the Forum here (2nd Side) and look for a thread "Problem with Changing NAV & Radios". The PSS Concorde has the same Problem. From here and PSS Forum theres no other resolution to that then quickly starting the engines. I had some flights without that problem with the 727 but sometimes the problem appears.

    Regards,

    Peter

OK...you're right. Guess I'm not taking long enough in my preflight ops to kill the batts this way.

Here's the referenced thread...there's a proposed .cfg file fix for this there.

Thanks, hopefully the service release will address this as it is about the only thing wrong with this plane (which will be flyng again tonight for sure to some exotic location ;) ) Love this bird!

At least you saved me the 20 euro for registering FSUIPC....:-lol
