    Cacoman,

¡Sin duda, esta es una obra de arte maravillosa!

Thanks for your hard work. I'm stuck in the (very cold) northern US. It'll be fun to crank up the heat and fly this bird through the warm virtual skies of Mexico.

Thanks Jim, hope to see you in some warm beautiful mexican beach.

Cancun is a good option this time of year.

And KMIA to MMUN is a regular route for Mexicana.

In fact I am going to do it right now!!!

    Happy Holidays

Great work, Emilio, and is that 4 stripes I see on your shoulder in your photo?

Glad you got your taxi lights fixed. :-)

Also, after seeing the shine on that plane, could you please come over and do the same to my Piper Dakota? At the airport they charge $450 for a wash and wax for it!!! :-eek

    Happy Holidays,

    Thanks Lou.

Unfortunatley the stripes are only three. But in January I will get my fourth. It was supposed to be last week (the fourth one), but the DGAC office in Mexico went out for Holidays. :-( So, January it will be.

And for doing the job in your Piper Dakota bring it to Mexico and I´ll gladly see you get your babe washed and waxed. :-)

I did some repaints before but repainting this bird, seeing the perfection, dedication, and great effort of the DF team is inspiring. Never before I dedicated so much time to get a repaint so detailed as with the DF727.

In fact in the final textures I placed at flightsim, I reduced the shine of the enignes a little bit. So I did with the white body. Getting a more real look.

    Here is a shot

Here compared to the same above you still have the white in the tail with reflections but not as much reflections as before.

Also the engine cowlings are a little less reflective.

Now for a more wide shot

You can search for the livery at flightsim under file name mexic70s.zip

I just have to say, I think this is a fabulous livery - beautiful job! I just spent the evening flying it and whenever I wasn't busy in the cockpit I just had to jump outside to see how cool it looked.

After seeing these screenshots, of the published textures, here and in the screenshot forums, I actually had to do a few double takes, especially with that last picture posted.

    Emilio,

I managed to persuade Mexicana to look at the possiblity of a service up here to the wilds of Alaska...I thought the people here might like to go down there for some hot sun and I also thought the Mexicans might like some winter fishing etc. Anyway, they sent this magnificent aeroplane to visit and I thought I would show you this picture at McLeland Field and use it to wish you and all Flight 1 and Dreamfleet B727 users a Merry Christmas.

BTW...I'm looking forward to the challenge of the multi sectored flight plan for the inaugural service :-)

Peter, Mexicana told me about your new agreement and it seems that there is going to be from now on a lot of traffic between Mexico and Alaska thanks to you. :-)

Thank you very much for your shot.

It is very nice to see how people values your work.

And thanks also for all the comments of this livery in this post. I made it for everybody who loves this bird as much as me and have so many memories around this fine aircraft that once ruled the skies like TRex ruled the prehistoric times (just a little romantic here).

Seeing the DF727 painted like this takes me 30 years back in time, remembering the first time I boarded this airplane at Benito Juarez Intl airport in Mexico City. I can still smell the burned fuel jet of the APU while boarding the plane using the back tail stairway.

Suddenly, while in the VC in a fleeting glimpse right out the corner of my eye, I could see my self again as that four year old boy staring through the cockpit´s door at the pilots doing the preflight check lists. "Wanna come inside?" the captain asked me. Without a word coming out from my opened mouth and no hesitation, I walked inside the cockpit and sat promptly in the jumpseat.

In a time when there was no 9/11s and not as much safety or company rules as now, a desperate mom looking for her child started asking the flight attendant where was I. With a smile she pointed inside the cockpit and there I was. Still sitting.

The captain asked my mom´s permition to stay in the jumpseat during the taxi and take off and it was granted.

I can remember a lot of joys in my life but that joy is among the bests I have.

Starting the preflight checklists, later the engines during pushback, taxiing to the runway and finally taking off the runway to climb into the wide open sky of the DF727 makes me remember why I became into a real pilot after so many years.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all.
