Thread: Few Model Errors w/Pics....

  1. Default RE: Few Model Errors w/Pics....

Thanks Shane, I've let Paul S know about the post.

That second pic is especially annoying!! I've seen it a few times, Paul S never sees it and not one of the 40+ beta team have commented on it.

Just out of interest, what vid card and monitor type was that using?

Thanks for the quick response, Paul!

    Here you go:

    Monitor: NEC FP2141SB 22"

Vid. Card: PNY Verto 6800GT w/65.73 drivers, 66.81 drivers, 67.02 Drivers, and the last official drivers.

If I may add, I also noticed the issue in the 2nd picture on other aircraft as well with the following system specs:

Monitor: Viewsonic Professional Series PF790 19"
Video card #1: Radeon 9800XT (only the Lord knows how many different drivers I tried to get rid of the issue...you name it, I probably tried it).

Video Card #2: PNY Verto 6800GT same drivers as listed above.

The good news is that Pic #2 doesn't seem system specific which usually means that it is an aircraft thing, though at the same time, not nessacarliy aircraft specific either. If that makes any sense. lol

If it is any help, the issue in pic 2 seems to stem from aircraft with "longer cylindrical fuselages", usually airliners, but I also noticed it on the Flight 1 ATR so I'm not sure my theory holds much water (although the ATR is somewhat of a "stretched" birdie). The issue can be seen on the "longer cylindrical fuselage" aircraft close to 100% of the time. I'm not sure it is as much a model error as a texture issue. But this is not my area of expertise so I am not really qualified to comment.

Pic #1 is just one of those things that somehow sneaks by during testing, then when you look at it you think to yourself, "how did I not see that?!?!? sheesh!". Been through it many times as a beta tester with a few groups. I'm sure you guys know what I mean there. Murphy's Law! :)

Hope this helps, Paul. If you need anything else, feel free to ask away.

Thanks for your time and quick response. :)

    Shane,

thanks for posting that, I still didn't have time to post pics displaying the same little issue as you show in pic#2.

    I remember having this problem on my old AMD1800 with a Geforce5600 I believe. I now have a AMD3400 with a Geforce6800 using latest drivers on a View Sonic A91f monitor at 1280 x 960 x 32.

Let me know if you guys need more system specs.

    Cheers,
    Pete

Thanks Shane, the monitor idea didn't work out :-(

We'll wait and see what Paul S comes up with.

    Ok, Paul.

No worries. I'm sure you guys will do what you can.

I'm more worried about the hole in my -100! :)

The issue in #2 seems to occur with almost 100% of the airliners I have downloaded, in fact, it may be 100% of them. So this one might be a toughie to solve. I hope #1 can be solved though, as that issue seems to be quite a bit more "pronounced". ;)

Thanks again for the quick reposnses, Paul. Great cutsomer support!

    *UPDATE*

Ok, I tried a few differen things here to see what I could fix..

    1. Having FSAA up higher, at least 8x, seems to make the "rings" a lot more faint.

    2. Tried different drivers and a different video card with various different drivers and 3 different monitors but the hole in the left side of the -100 is still there. :(

Do you guys think you'll be able to fix that 2nd issue, Paul? I can live with the rings, just about every airliner model in FS out there has em' I noticed. But do you think you DF guys might be able to patch up my "holy" -100? :)

    Thx for your time!

I personally don't see the rings in my setup, but yes, there is a "gash" in the model. I'm sure it will be fixed in the future;)

    Hi Shane,

Many thanks for letting Dreamfleet know about the texture problems on the B727. I hope this hasn't spoilt your enjoyment too much.
I've corrected the textured triangle problem on the 727-100 wing root fairing that you describe in Item 1)
The fuselage join problem on the -100 and -200 Item 2)is a bit more elusive since it doesn't appear on most systems. We'll do our best to solve it tho'.

Thanks for going to so much trouble with the pics.

    Regards
    Paul S

Thx for the very timely response, Paul S.! (great customer service!)

With regards to the "slices" in the fuselage, I'm not sure it is something that can even be fixed. As I stated above, it seems to exist at some angle or another on practically every airliner model I have, be it freeware or payware. But I am by no means a GMAX expert so possible solutions to fixing it are beyond my capacity.

You guys did a remarkable job. I'm not sure where the comparison between the CS 727 and this, the DF 727, comes from. IMO, there is no comparison, and too make one is an exercise in futility.

Thank you for fixing up my little -100. She and I are much obliged. :)

    Hi Shane,

Any chance you could get a close up pic of the fuselage join texture error that you have on your system please. The problem is on my system the join is perfect so I can't figure out what the problem is.
The closer you can get to one of the joins the better if possible.

    Many thanks.

    Regards
    Paul S
