Thread: Undocking w/multi moniters

  1. Default Undocking w/multi moniters

    Congrats on a great product!!
Is there something in the cfg. I can change so I am able to keep full screen view on mont. #1 and move main panel view to mont. #2? When I undock main panel the outside view go's with panel.

As long as you're in window mode, it will work like the default aircraft. Undock, and drag. That is the way I flew it during most of the beta. I believe it is a FS9 limitation.

You'll need to change some panel.cfg files to get the full screen panels to "undock". The DF727 closes each full screen panel when you open another because of performance issues.

Change "render3dwindow" to 0 for the engineer(s) and overhead panels. I suggest retaining "render3dwindow=1" for the four main panels. That should give you the result you want.

If you change the panel cfg to render3dwindow=0, you need to select your views via the shift 1 thro 9 keys or the view menu - these selections bypass the clickspot code - with the exception of the four main panel views - capt/capt landing/fo and fo landing.

You will note you can use shift 1 through 4 (or the view menu) to get the main panel you want in lieu of the clickspots. When render3dwindow=0 you can bring the engineer and overhead panels into view without closing the current main panel view and undock/drag the engineer and overhead panels on the same monitor or a second monitor.

Please back up your files before you attempt this - and the performance of the 727 will drop significantly because of the updating of all the full screen panels together.

    Good Luck.

The first time I undock a panel to the other monitor (in my case the overhead panel) I also lose the panel on the main monitor. However, if I then press shift+1 I get the main panel back AND the overhead panel remains on the second one. If I use the panel chooser icon the overhead panel disappears.

EDITD PART: hmm.. exactly as you said Bill, sorry about that! :)
