Thread: Can the 727 get its own forums like the ATR?

  1. Default Can the 727 get its own forums like the ATR?

I really liked what was done with the ATR, having its own website and having several forums with different topics about the ATR. I really like this system, so I strongly encourage you guys to do it with the 727 (or any future add-ons for that matter).

Not sure what Lou or Paul plan, but I remember way back when the DF734 was released the same discussions came up and most people felt that having everything in one forum was the way to go. Not sure if that's changed or not, but I think we'll find out soon:)

Still thinking about this. We may just decide to support the 727 here, and then just have a separate FAQ forum for it.

Depends on the amount of traffic on the forums surely? If a thousand people would come in here to ask why the OBI isn't moving then seperate forums would be better, but that isn't likely surely? It's not like there's more than 2 threads a day here anyway...

With Squawkbox 3 coming, and "Holidays" Christmas/Hanukkah/etc I think the amount of traffic for the much anticipated 727 will be great.

Not in that there will be bugs to report, but people just talking about it, and posting pictures, etc and sharing their ways of flying.

Depending on how awesome this bird will be, it could get as big as the PIC 767, unless the fact that having no FMC/S will deter many people.

In my opinion, the release of the ATR was smoothened out by it's forum system. I dont really see any disadvantage to duplicating the system for the 727, except maybe extra time added to development, but that'd be peanuts compared to how long 727 has been in development anyways, and it'd be worth the extra time IMO. If forum traffic is not enough to justify the multiple forums (which I'd be surprised if it wasn't), they can always be scaled back.

As far as development goes......well let's just say that I'm now playing around with some text-o-matic liveries because I'm bored ;-)
