Some more shots of this resort airport, in build, can be seen here:-

    Peter,
It's beautiful! Are you using a software package to build it? GMax or something else?

    Bill,

I'm just using XML compiling the bgl files with BGLCOMP with some help (and hindrance) from the SDK...it is all made from library objects (except the hangar).

Here is the boat refuelling dock that I cobbled together for the marina last night:-

That's great, Peter. I can't imagine doing that kind of work without some type of graphical tool.

Regardless, the results speak for themselves.

The only graphical tool that I use is a very useful aircraft that came with the Eaglesoft Hangar...It takes the form of a red cross-hair with a radiating square grid around it. You view it mainly from above (CTRL+S) and slew it to the position you want. Then SHFT+2 brings a gauge with Lat, Long and Hdg to four decimal places. These numbers can be copied to the .txt file that waits to "Plant" the boat or other object. Then simply run BGLCOMP on the .txt file and it will be converted to a .bgl file. Copy the .bgl file into your scenery folder and restart Flight Simulator, selecting "Previous Flight"...bingo!...the Boat or whatever appears in the cross-hairs and you may just want to slew the cross-hairs a smidgen closer to the Dock Finger and copy the numbers again for another go...A "go" takes about 3 minutes or 2 when you are in practice. You can also admire your work in Spot View and pan around it with your hat switch. That little tool may not sound much but it is worth its weight in gold and it comes free :-) I used it to position every item in the scenery that was not made with AFCAD 2.21...I've added a few more bits since the pictures.

Yea, I had forgotten about that. I used it to place a few Eaglesoft hangers.

Amazing how a simple little gadget like that is all you need. I'm still impressed.

    Bill
