Anyone have any positive or negative thoughts about this.

Would I be better off with FS Nav?

    Opinions woukd be appreciated.

    Thanks

Super Flight Planner works great! It's the only thing I use to plan my flights. You can't cheat by pressing F9,and see where you are...
But you can't do that in the real world either :-)

Yes I agree with you that Super Flight planner is the best flight planning freeware you can have. I also have the FsNav 3.x so I do press F9 to see where I am. I can't afford the FSnav 4 which is a payware.

However I think you are wrong when you say in the real world you do not have a 'moving map' if that is what you mean. I have never bean to a cockpit of an commercial aircraft, but there were monitors at various portion of the passenger side of the aircraft showing on a 'moving map' our exact position. I am sure the pilots also must be also having it!

Another alternative is the freeware Nav3.1 from http://nav.consequential.org/ .

Well, I used Super Flight Planner for years, not for flight planning but for adventure creation for FS98,2000 and 2002.

It is great free program, however, if you want to plan and fly, you better off with FS Nav since you can export your plans very easlly to FS2002 gps system and as most people do you can follow your flight with it without pausing the simulator. You can also use it as FMS where it will fly your flight plan from A---Z...

I use Super Flight Planner for all my flight plans. It is easy to use and you can export the plan directly to the MS-GPS.

I prefer to use FsNav instead of GPS,as I can get more information on alternate destinations without having to resort to <F9>.
