Well here you go, the proof it can be done :-)
I deleted the FS2000 lights and installed the FS2002 lights.

Coffee, anyone?
Probably lots of HEX editing, or something like that. :)
Unless you have the original project file. :)

Hi Guys,
Fs2002 lights can be added to any aircraft by using Notepad to open aircraft cfg. file, and doing some editing! It's not real easy, but not extremly hard either!
The F4U Corsair comes with no lights at all. Below I will post what I did to get lights on Corsair. Same thing can be used on any A/C installed in 2002, just have to move light positions around.
(LIGHTS)
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit
light.0=3, -1.30, -20.41, 0.35, fx_navred
light.1=3, -1.30, 20.41, 0.35, fx_navgre
light.2=3, -22.75, 0.00, 1.50, fx_navwhi
light.3=2, -1.56, -20.51, 0.35, fx_strobe
light.4=2, -1.56, 20.51, 0.35, fx_strobe
light.5=1, -19.25, 0.00, 8.01, fx_beacon
panel=0.00, 0.45, -2.00, fx_vclight
Good Luck,
Randy Burton

From the left bank of the Mississippi River.
I think that most people are talking about removing FS2000 lights from the .mdl file. Sure, you can add the FS2002 lights easily enough, but getting rid of the FS2K ones is a little more difficult, I think. :-groggy

Thanks J.C.,
In that case......OOPPS..EEE! Well the 2002 lights are so much brighter than 2000, one could just install 2002 lights over the top of 2000.........But I Do understand the message from your reply.
Randy
Hmmm... I guess I'll see if that works. Good Idea! :-wave

You CAN add 2002 lights over the previous versions, but it rarely solves the problem. Blink rates are different for strobes and beacons, and the FS2000 nav lights, in particular, still show around the FS2002 lights.
