    Default Text-O-Matic in FS2004 Update

    Lou,

I just tried to install a new texture for the C177 updated to FS9--using the Text-O-Matic as produced in the FS2004 update.

Strangely, I get Text-o-Matic as the CFS2 VERSION. (See Joe's query in the "TEXT-O-MATIC" thread below for a similar occurence.)

I did go ahead, placing the new bmps in the FS9/Flight One Software/Text-o-Matic/Templates directory. When using this version of Text-o-Matic, the new aircraft.cfg loses all the ATC information--and I don't know what else--from the previous aircraft as well as signores the new information in the new painted aircraft. The Text-o-Matic in this form is thus useless.

Lou, do we know if this is a special "UNDOCUMENTED FEATURE" of the FS2004 update?

    Any straigthforward solutions?

    Best,
    Mike

UPDATE. Tried the older version of Text-o-Matic from FS2002, moving it to the appropriate FS9/Flight One Software.Text-o-Matic directory. Got the same result--with the "CREATE AIRCRAFT IN CFS2" button. After "creation", the aircraft.cfg file is stripped of all Air Traffic Control information (and lots of other stuff from the real FS9 aircraft.cfg file.) Presumably, we're crating aircraft for CFS2 which don't have these additional bits of information...

Again, any ideas about what to do?

    Ditto........Bump..... All that..... Same thing.
Ain't got no Text-O-Matic for FS anything.... it's for CFS2.
After adding textures I don't have a plane....
    4 installs.... same thing.
I looked after installing the rg upgrade for the text-o-matic program and it was the cfs2 program
I see the bmps for the fs program.... something is missing or wrong

I did have this problem once before, but I cannot remember the solution. You know, if you have another aircraft that uses the TOM, you might try re-installing that one (After installing the Cardinal).

    M.... Go here......
    http://flight1.com/esd-products.asp?product=C177001
Scroll down to the "download site 1"
    Re-download the file ... some 80 mgs...
File name will be C177dual.exe. It will contain all upgrades for both FS2002 and FS9.
Just place it in the same folder as your key...
I just did this and it installed ok and I no longer have the CFS2 Text-O-Matic.
    Merry Christmas

    Joe,

Thanks. The full "dual" install worked perfectly for the Text-o-Matic. Now to work the sound problem...another day.

Best of the Holiday Season for all.

Yes.... I have that problem too. Sound Card is Blaster Live! Gamer. Got static all over with this plane... only this plane.
If you find a cure... Please Email me at raptor@htn.net.
    Thanks

With the SB live I reinstalled the drivers for my SB and no more static.
