    Default Building the Dreamfleet-FFX Merge...

Some people are not building their merge correctly. It is essential that you follow the instructions exactly.

From the flight deck, click on the bottom left icon in the view selector panel (LEFT WING VIEW). Now put your stick to the right:-

Does it look like this with the Aileron moving down?

Now put your stick to the left:-

Do the Aileron and the Spoilerons both move up?

When you select 5 flap for take-off, does it move down like this?

When you touchdown with Lift Dump armed, does it do this?

Does your seat view look like this?

If the answers are "No", then you have not put the merge together correctly. The special .bmp files that I supplied to replace some of the Dreamfleet ones are really V.C. Views and MUST be used with the Panel.cfg file that I supplied. They and the panel.cfg must be used as supplied and not tampered with in any way. They must also be used with the downloaded aircraft files that I specified and not any old aircraft that you have and fancy converting.

    The instructions document:-

READ IT. PRINT IT and FOLLOW IT EXACTLY...Tick off each item as you complete it in the order specified.

    Peter

I guess this post was precipitated by my sending those bmp’s back to you. I took your admonishment to heart, un-installed Dreamfleet and did a complete re-install of the Dreamfleet-FFXmerge, strictly according to your instructions, checking each step along the way and using the downloaded files you had recommended.

I still have the same problem, neither wing shows when I click on the bottom icons in the view selector panel (LEFT or RIGHT WING VIEW), from the flight deck. And this happens whether I use your original panel.cfg file or the new one which incorporates the different EADI and EHSI gauges.

When I open the three bmp’s in your package, the two wing files show blank black whereas the seat file shows the seat and the window with a black background through the window. If I open the three Dreamfleet original bmp’s they show the wings and the seat. So I had suspected that I had maybe received a couple of corrupted bmp wing files, hence my returning them to you.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or have ideas what my problem might be? But Peter this is no big thing for me, I have a working panel now and that is what counts.

It’s still an incredible merge and I can only thank you for all the work you have done.

Hi Peter, you wanted to be kept up-to-date with the flightplan display, it´s pretty much worked out. FS9, FSNavigator and FSBuild plans can be used in both FMC and EHSI. This is the FFX model with Dreamfleet flight dynamics.

Thx for your reply. I tried your panel.cfg - the entries for the wing views are identical with Peter's so I still got full screen with no wings when I clicked on a wing icon. But if I go to VC the wings are there in right/back and left/back views and the working spoilers and flaps show okay. Another of these unanswerable problems with a computer!

    Nigel,

It does seem a great mystery...Just in case something has gone wrong with your bitmaps I will send the zip file containing them again. The only other thing I can suggest is a video driver change. I suggest that you use the latest WHQL approved drivers for your card. I am using 30.82 but I'm on WIN ME and I know there are later ones for WIN XP...I don't think that this can really be the problem...Let's see what the replacement bitmaps do...I'll zip up the ones from my aircraft.

Hi, I´m not sure about this, but check your FS9.cfg for the See_Self=1 line. Have you possibly edited that entry? If I change it to See_Self=0 the wings are gone in 2D mode, the VC view is unaffected.

    Take care, Uwe

    UWE,

I'm sure you've got it...I just tried the same and had the same result. I expect Nigel will report in soon to say that the problem is solved...My apologies to you Nigel, I was obviously barking up the wrong tree :-)

One for the LESS FAQ :-lol

    Uwe,

Thanks for the shots...You seem to have it all under control and working well. I note that TCAS and Route lines are operational. Just as a matter of interest, does it show the bottom of descent arc that we used to get as a green line?

I also note that it is a rather nasty day there at KSEA and I don't like the look of that crosswind much...the component is probably at least 12 knots and I see that you are set to Autoland. This is probably about the limit for an Autoland and you could certainly expect to arrive on the right hand side of the runway. With all that wet, a nice firm touchdown would be a good idea, to get the tyres down through the water and in a position to start Autobraking. I'm also glad to see that you've got your lift dump armed and ready :-)

One thing I don't like though Uwe, is your weight. This is too heavy for these circumstances and you should arrive in future with less fuel :-lol

Thanks again Uwe for the great shots...They tell a story of hard work and perseverance.

:-lol Yep, killed myself, the paxe and the pilot of a GA on the right taxiway when a gust blew me even further of the path in the boonies...

And do you really think doing pattern work in a 737 with full fuel is somewhat unrealistic??? :-lol

I just tried the new free weather scapes by Calibre software, now that´s some nasty weather! Took the Archer right through a thunderstorm...

    Cheers, Uwe

PS: There is no way to export FMC data to FS9, thus T/C, T/D of the route aren´t displayed. The EHSI will show a decent arc with standard VS mode, I´ll have to check if it does with the DF737 AP as well.

    Yeah Men!!

That's the problem and the solution. I had changed it to "0" way back when I was having some double imaging cockpit problems. As you say Peter, another one for the FAQ's. Now I have to sort out my double imaging by some other means.

Thx for all your tolerance, patience and help. I'm off back flying again.
