Default C310 question for Lou B. and/or Design Team

Gentlemen:
Are you intending to provide 2D "Fixed Window Views" with the upcoming C310 release. I was very disappointed to read that the Flight1 Meridian project will be released with only vc views. I know your design team and others are working hard to make the vc a "photoreal" environment, however, I still much prefer the 2D views.

Many thanks to you and your team for your hard work on all the great Dreamfleet products.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-05-03 AT 10:15AM (EST)[p]Are you talking about the side views? That is what is being referred to with "Fixed Window Views." For example, when I look out the side while in the panel view of the DF 737, I have an actual photo of the side window of the 734 cockpit. All Flight1 is doing is making it so that you see the VC when you look left or right. To be honest, I prefer this type of view. You can see the gauges move and what not, while with the photo nothing ever moves.

I agree with John, although its pretty nice having a real photo I prefer flying with the VC views as you see ailerons move etc and the shading changes over the wing, also theres the point of the gauges moving and showing real details :-)

Yes, the 310 will have both fixed 2D views and 3D views, same as the Archer and Cardinal.

J.C,

That is exactly why we have the 2D interior view bitmaps as optional choice via Config-o-Matic. If one doesn't like the 2D bitmaps, he can get rid of them with a simple mouse click in the C-o-M...

Thanks, Mikko! :-)

I think it should be said that while we work with Flight One, and they publish our products, and most of their staff are friends of ours, we are NOT Flight One, and what they do is what they do, and it usually has nothing to do with what we do. ;-)

Between this Win98 incompatibility stuff, and now this, it seems like everytime F1 does something with **their** products, we have to answer for it with ours! :-eek

Always remember, were are DreamFleet, not Flight One. They do what they do, and we do what we do.

Oh, let me nip this one before it gets asked:

The C-310 will NOT be priced anywhere near the price of the Meridian, not even close! It will be WELL below.

What else?

Well, I think that covers it all for now.

All in good fun, not meaning to ruffle any feathers, though honestly, it does kill valuable time having to answer these types of questions. ;-)

Regards,
