Thread: Side views

  1. Default Side views

This really applies to all my aircraft in FS. The taxiway lights on all aircraft are VERY hard to see when looking through the front view however if I look at any side view they are bright and beautiful and easy to see.

Anyone got a clue what is happening here??

Well, if you're in the default 182, then the taxi/landing light is out on the left wing, so it's a little dimmer looking straight out the front.

On the Cardinal, the lights are on the cowling, so I dunno. Try turning up your light sources to max. Might help.

It's a function of the compressed foward view. If you drag the edges of the outside view down to the bottom of the screen everything looks luvverly.

Unfortunately the perspective is then cr&p. As are frame rates.

"Try turning up your light sources to max" ???

I think you may have mis-read my post. I am referring to TAXIWAY lights, that is the lights on the taxiway edges (blue lights). Can't really see then through the front view, bright and easy to see in the side views.

  7. Default RE: Side views (PROBLEM SOLVED)

A gent in another forum provided the solution to this problem and boy is it ever simple.

Go to any aircraft/panel and either hide the panel or drag it out of the way a little bit and you will see that the scenery behind the panel only goes down about half the screen. Simply grab the lower edge of the scenery and drag (stretch) it down to the bottom of the display and put the panel back and WHAM, there's the taxiway lights (and all other airport lighting) bright as can be !!!

Now I can actually see the high speed turn off when rolling out on landing! Great stuff. (can't wait untill it gets dark out so I can go fly in the dark again..)
