Default Archer or 421c

I currently own the df734 as well as the cardinal and enjoy them both so much that I'm pondering my next move with DF/Flight one products, so I just wanted to ask for some input on which one I should pick up next. If I could I'd get both but for now I must settle for one. Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Ron.

Hmm... tough one. Don't have the Archer, can't comment. 421C is great, awesome to fly. Maybe wait for their Meridian coming up. Looks swell, that one.

I was kinda leaning more towards the 421c since it is a larger twin engine as opposed to another small single engine like the 177, (It's kinda in between the 737 and the 177). How is the flight model on the 421? Also you make a good point about the meridian. Just curious, how far along are you on your training. so far I have 12.3 hours and my solo is next week.

My training?

I got a little over 13 hours, probably solo Monday if I fly tomorrow (come on, weather!) and just passed my Pre-solo exam yesterday. Have to write my radio exam before I fly tomorrow. All is good. :)

The flight model on the 421C is excellent. Plus, you get that nifty Garmin 530 GPS to play with.

Radio exam? I didn't have to take one of those. all I need is my medical. I'm guessing maybe it's because you're outside the U.S.

Always wondered why a radio license/rating isn't needed in the USA.
Are you allowed to operate a radio without one, or are you limited to flying in uncontrolled airspace until/unless you get a rating?
Here it's a prerequisite, no solo without it (and until you have it, no touching that mike I guess).

Hmmmm.... Couldn't answer that one for you. All I know is that an FCC license used to be a required document for the plane, but not anymore. It is required if you'll be flying international, though. As for the other question, you can use the mike all you want without any kind of license. I think it's because the FCC has designated those frequencies for aviation use, so the FAA regulates it. I could be wrong, though.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-07-02 AT 05:41PM (EST)[p]In the "olden" days you used to need one, as I had gotten a "Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit" when I began flying back in the mid 70's. Now it's just a relic that I still have in my wallet.

Lou,

I think it's time to clean out that wallet:) Who knows what else you might find in there!
