Default DF 734 - TOGA button

I have looked at many pictures of real 737-400 cockpits and cannot find the TO/GA button between the parking brake and the throttles.

Is there such a button in a real 737-400?

If not, and the TOGA button is just for simulation, then how do real pilots activate TOGA thrust?

Hi Michel, it's there...throttle pedestal, small black button above the Placard "TOGA", at 1 o'clock from the Parking Brake, between left stab trim indicator and number one throttle lever. It's hard to find at first, once you've found it, piece of cake. Let us know how you're doing in locating it.

The real TOGA buttons are located just forward of the engine throttle grips on the top of the throttle elvers. You can reach them with a press of the finger without releasing the throttles.

I'm using your checklist. I downloaded it a few days ago. I'm developing my own combining yours and the book by Mike Ray.

I'm trying to identify which steps are done on the initial flight and which ones are done on subsequent legs.
If Southwest has a 20 min turnaround time, I doubt that they go through every single check again between each leg.

I found them. You really have to look for it. I thought it was on the throttle console near the parking brake light.

I know where the DF737 TOGA button is but I was looking for the same button(s) in a real cockpit. I found the real ones on a picture at airliners.net. The picture that shows the best (IMO) is ID190274.

    Thanks

    Michel,
With regard to the turnaround and repetitive items on the list, I've designed the checklist for a cold and dark startup, flight, and then termination upon landing. No turnarounds. Why you might ask? Because of the DF737 battery drain bug. Since the battery goes completely dead (no matter what) after about half an hour, I choose to reload the aircraft if I want to continue to a second leg. That way I will have a fresh battery.
Thanks for using my checklist. Please let me know what changes you've made if you would like me to consider any of them for Version 6 which is due out by the end of the week. Thanks.

Isn't there a flag in FSUIPC that gives you unlimited battery charge? Look under the Technical tab and the flag is called "Extend Battery Life"

Do you have Mike Ray's book? I based my checklist on it.
I don't want to post it because it might violate copyright, I don't know.

I also have several 737-400 videos and try to follow their procedures. There's the Dreamfleet video by Marcos Arranz, the GO video, the Virgin Express video, the Sobelair video, the Lufthansa video, the Sabena video, the Inter European video, the Virgin Blue DVD ... all 737-400's which some -300 and -500.

For example, they're turning the engine start switches from OFF to CONT during take-off and then back to OFF during climb and then back to CONT during landing and back to OFF during taxi to the gate.

I also added starting the chronometer when cleared for T/O and turning onto the runway.

There's small details like resetting the Fuel Used counter to zero before.

and so on... I think my checklist is getting too long.

Maybe we can continue this discussion via email. Mine is michel_legein@hotmail.com

    Michel,
The FSUIPC fix doesn't work for the DF737. I've tried everything (search for my old threads on this topic). I've included the timer start for Version 6 on the checklist. There will be some other good changes, too. I'll e-mail you when I get home from work.
