Default Where is DF heading after Airbus? An opinion.......

I have read that Lou and the gang may not do the 727 because of another company doing it as well and because this community cannot support to 727's. I agree. For any company no matter what the product, the bottom line is the return gained for the investment made. So what is DF going to do? Not that my opinion matters at the least but I do have a suggestion. How about making something "old", new again? If I may explain. When these realistic panels and aircraft first hit the scene for FS2000, which one was the first? The PSS 777. This was followed (in no order) by the PSS 747, DF's 737 and PIC's 767. Now for FS2002, we have the PSS A320 series and the upcoming DF A340/330. We also have a patched DF737, PIC767 and soon to be patched PSS 777/747. While the patched aircraft are good, they are not true GMAX models with the virtual cockpit that the PSS A320 and the DF A340/330 are. Not to pick on any one company, look at the PSS 777. This was the first one of the bunch out. It is what, 2 years old now? The capabilities while great and "gee-whiz" when it first came out, it is now obviously dated. No TCAS, no virtual cockpit, limited FMC capability and not a GMAX type model to name just a few. This is the most popular wide-body Boeing there is right now and a great seller for that company. Once DF is done with there current project, us simmers will have a TRUE FS2002 aircraft for the entire Airbus line up (excluding the A380), that have everything incorporated into them that FS2002 has to offer. For Boeing what do we have....nothing but patched (while still good) leftovers from FS2000. Yes I know DF talked about the 727, but many of us would like to fly the newest and most technology advanced Boeings out there such as the 777 and 767-400. We have the latest and greatest from Airbus, why not Boeing? (That was a thought provoking question, not a Airbus vs. Boeing type question, I like both companies offerings). PSS have announced there future projects which I am sure will take the rest of this year at least and none include a Boeing aircraft. The hopes of us all now rest with DF. If DF deceides to not do a newer type Boeing, I am afraid we will not have any true FS2002 Boeing complete packages for a long time to come. Yes, yes, I know POSKY has updated aircraft but not a COMPLETE aircraft package like what we get from DF and PSS. If looked at from a big picture stand point, how much money for DF and how much sheer thrill for us would it be to see a true FS2002 Boeing 777 package from DreamFleet with all the stuff they put into there work? In one word, WOW!
As stated, this is just one guys opinion...nothing more.

Lou, just one thing to ask....have there been any discussions about doing newer Boeing?

"I have read that Lou and the gang may not do the 727 because of another company doing it"

I don't know where you got that idea from. Though the thought of having to share the 727 market chokes me a little, it is certainly going ahead.

Whilst I'm not releasing any previews for commercial reasons (yet) I will say that the artwork for the main panel and it's gauges is about 90% done. This week I started the overhead panel and have about 60% of it done.

We intend adding a surprise or two as well :-)

    All the best,

Keep up the rapid work :)

By the way, who is doing the visual model for this plane?

Oh and btw i would love a 777 even thought there is no chance of one :-lol

Why can't the market support 2 B727? I for one will buy the DF727. Having been satisfied with DF products, freeware and payware, this is not going to be a disappointment. As for Mr. Goldings' panels, the B707 and MD80 are still the two panels I fly the most. The DF734 is third because I hate to spend time prgramming FMC. Having said all of that, I am looking forward to the other guys F104 this summer.

    OFf to fly the archer,

thanks for a great set of products.

You don't know where I got that idea from? Look here at what Lou said:

I would still like to here from Lou on this as well.

Lou's comment was "No final decision has been made yet, but we will be discussing it this weekend."

We had the meeting whilst I was in NY and the decision was made.......so believe it, the 727's are on the way :-)

And even though I've said it before, I'll say it again: a grateful 727 fan thanks you. ;-)

I think I'll have to take a couple extra days off the weekend she comes out just to get some extra time to fly.

    See ya in the pattern!

This is old news. Lou and Paul already decided (and announced it on this forum) that DF was coming out with their version of the 727. You're looking at an old thread.

Ok. I was looking at an old thread. I guess the chance for getting a mordern Boeing from anyone is slim to none. That's to bad.
