Default "Don't Sink" and fuel quantitys.

Whenever I replay my landings in FS2002 I have the cockpit voice shouting "Don't Sink" at me. I've tried removing the offending sound file but that just seemed to prevent FS2002 from booting up. Any suggestions?

Also I note that the Flight Planner in FS2002 gives the fuel required in litres in the Nav Log page, but the fuel settings are only in gallons and pounds. Is it possible to get them to match?

    Thanks folks

For #1 two options...make a proper ILS approach or simply turn them off overhead panel top left...as to two flip the swithch on the fuel guage.

Just curious have you discovered how to print the manuals.

    Litres to Imperial Gallons

Multiply the litres figure by 0.219975

    Litres to US Gallons

Multiply the litres figure by 0.264179

As to the offending sound, replace the file (undelete) and then open it up in widows sound recorder and just reduce the volume about 3 or 4 times by 25% to "shut it up"

Or just press the INOP button on the center console. That turns the GPWS warning system off.

My pardon if what follows is too basic.

You will get a "Don't Sink" if you exceed around 1000 ft/min rate of descent on short finals. Fly a stable ILS at the correct airsped, and then continue the same r.o.descent when looking at the runway. Remember to aim 300m (1000ft) into the runway, and not at the threshold.

    Happy (quiet) landings.

If I make a near perfect approach and landing, with the GPWS happily silent I still get the "Don't Sink" warnings constantly during a reply all the way to the wheels touching down.

I thought it was just "one of those things" which everyone was experiencing?

Yes, during replay I also get GPWS warnings. Simply turn the GPWS off (on the radio panel).
