No you need to have RAM running at or above the clockspeed set by the motherboard. You may be able to run your newer mobo on pc100, but i wouldn't try it.

On my syst (PIII 700 Dell, 640 Mo SDRAM (100+133)), I have melt 100 and 133 SDRAM with no problem. If your motherboard is built for 100MHz SDRAM, it will use 133MHz ones... at 100 MHz. I heard that some people had display problems with this kind of melting... Personally, I never encountered one.

Yes, you can run the PC100 memory on your new MoBo. In the BIOS setup there will be the option of specifying the memory speed. Set if for the 100 Mhz speed. Your system will work fine, it just wont be quite as fast as if you had the 133 Mhz stuff in there.

Also, there is a not very well known issue with all versions of Win98 and WinMe with memory amounts over 512 mb. Going over 512mb will cause the system to become unstable. It took almost 10 days of calls to Microsoft support before they finally admitted that.. The problem does not exist with Win 2000 or XP.
