    Default Database update please!

Hi, is it possible that the nav database for DF737 will be updated sometime in a near future?
Im having all kind of trouble trying to create flightplans with this outdated database.
Tried for nearly an hour or so last night to create a flightplan out of LGAV to EKCH via the ABLON SID, and with help from the latest navdata in FSNavigator to display the route.
Something in the airspace there must have been changed since the last update for DF737 because i couldnīt use any of the airways from FSNavigator.

You could do what I do and leave your FSNavigator back on the older AIRAC cycle...the one that the DF734 is on. Then they will match perfectly. Do you really want your "Airspace" to be right up to date...I certainly don't. All I want is for my various applications to have the same database. I do not intend to update my AIRAC cycle until January 2003. That way, I will not have the constant "Not found waypoints" errors that you "Up To Date" people will always have.

You need AIRAC 0112...you could go here for a start to Richard Stefan's site...but you might have to e-mail him for AIRAC 0112:-

    Hi,

I almost canīt believe what Iīve read.

Do not update AIRAC?????? So, fly a "real as it gets" with
the most "real" B737 with Non real flight plan routes?

Do you Guys fly on-line? With a SUP as controler????

Not for me! (If I can with the help of some friends)

Not to be picky, but I'm surprised as well. For instance, the STARS for the New York area have been changed. Since I generally use preferred routes and current U.S. TERMINAL PROCEDURES, it leaves a little out of the simulation not to fly with the up-to-date routings. Maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist about this, but why not "do it right"?? ;-)

In my experience the issue of currency is most noticeable if you fly using VATSIM - they tend to use up to date data.

I've encountered two instances where an update would have helped - one at KSLC and the other at KJFK.

The controllers could have vectored me but I had real plates, so it was just a matter of flying the STAR the old fashion way.

I understand the person that provides the updates does so as a courtesy for DF users, so patience is more than a virtue in this case.

Patience is indeed a virtue, especially in cases such as this. But... it would be nice! :-)

Prabal is on an extended business trip overseas. When he returns and gets settled back in, he should have another update.

Yes, I have spoken with Richard Steffan as a backup, however, his data would also need to be converted for use, and this would need to involve Tom Main, who is much too busy at present to tackle this. So, we wait paitently for Prabal. :-)
