Default FMC and AFDS: some doubts

    Hello,

I Have some problems in managing the Hold Page in FMC: infact, after reading the FMC manual, i try to change the TGT Speed, but "Invalid Entry" appears, nevertheless manuals says that "A manual entry takes priority".

In AFDS, whenever descending to lower altitude, after ALT ACQ become active, the plane first descends below the altitude set on MCP panel, then climb to that altitude.

In FMC settings i tried to set the "ALT ACQUIRE MODE" in Moderate, but during descents it continues to miss the altitude.

    Bye

If you're having trouble setting the target speed in a hold, try specifying speed/altitude instead and maybe that will work. At least I think this has worked for me.

Then try SOFT mode if you don't like overshoots.

Thanks for your help! About the best speed hold issue, after setting up my holding in the HOLD Page, i go back to LEGS Page, and at "Holding at" line i insert new speed/altitude, but no speed variation occurs. This is a bug for me.

Instead, for missing altitude after climbing or descending, i will try your suggestion tomorrow. I will let you know....

    Thanks

Altitude issues are now solved! After setting up the FMC in SOFT ALT ACQ MODE, the plane has stopped to overshoot the altitude in climb/descent.

    Thanks
