Well, having just solved (maybe) my sidewinder problem by getting a Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D (where in the dickens do they come up with these names???), which is at least recognized by Windows ME as being attached (only the USB cable, though, not the Game card port, strangely enough!), I now find that my famerate has tanked! FS2002 has never been a champ on my machine, which is fairly recent and almost, though not quite, state of the art. But the 12's and 15's looked really smooth, as many have commented. Now, unfortunately, the rates are around 4-6 and things are geting choppy. Using the alt-ent command to get into the Windows window improves things a bit, badk up to 12-14 or so. I wonder what I'd have been getting with the original setup using the window - mabe in the 20's! Anyway, has anyone encoutered problems with particular devices affecting the performance of the graphics?
And the problem of not being able to reassign the hat switch to control elevator trim still exists! I'm beginning to think 2002 has reserved those "buttons" for itself. Fortunately, the wingman has a plethora of buttons on top of the stick, so nothing lost.
