Default Runtime error 339: Component 'RICHTX32.OCX'... not correctly registered

Starting with Build 40, I get this message if I try and generate the scenery's XML file, view the XML attributes of an object, or generate, complile, and install the scenery. I've tried reinstalling MSXML and the hotfix, but that doesn't fix the issue. Attached is a screenshot of how far in generating the XML SGX B45 gets:

This is a component of Windows which is installed with the full distribution of SceneGenX. It is not included with the update since it should already be installed. You should download the full install for build 45, uninstall your current SceneGenX installations and reinstall the full build. From then on, you will only need the Update installs.

I get this same error message every time I attmept to compile a scenery. I downloaded and installed the version 1.0 Build 46 full install, and when I compile a scenery I am told all is well, however, when I go to that scenery none of the objects I have added are visible. Furthermore there is no option for a runway or starting point as in Airport. So I downloaded and installed the update for build 46 and now encounter the Runtime error 339. When this happens and I click the OK button the program crashes to desktop. When I click "About" I show Build 44.

Neither version seems to work on my system, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I checked and this component in the Build 46 Full Install. If you are showing Build 44 on the About box, then the new installation did not correctly finish, which is why the component is not being registered.

Did you un-install all instances of SceneGenX before installing the Full Install? I would suggest that. Go into the Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all entries of SceneGenX. Then re-install the Full install and you should be ok.

The first step is to get the correct program version up and running with out this error. There are many other reasons why the scenery may not be showing up, but we can work through that when the program is stable.

Alright, uninstalled, downloaded again just make sure the right version is here, clean install, and now it reads build 46. Let me give it another try and I'll let you know.

Oh, has runway been removed as an object you can create with the new version?

No, you can still create runways as objects. If the runway is not shown or is greyed, it means you have not defined the Airport object yet. In FS2004, runways must be associated with Airports. To create the Airport Object, go to Sections / Airport Data and click on <new>. You must fill in at least the ICAO ident for the airport as this is used to associate scenery objects to the airport.

    Hi,

If you're running into a "Runtime Error 339" this may be because your computer is getting old.

How to Fix a Runtime Error 339:

First you need to check the validity and credibility of the program that you are trying to run. If you installed the application poorly then certain bits of information will be missing. Sometimes these take the form of ActiveX files or Java files. You need to ensure that the files are intact and undamaged. It's also important that you check and then clean the Windows Database, validate null values and check discarded files. If any of these are in the wrong location or if they have been corrupted then you will encounter errors.
