DENVER, May 29 – Virtual Frontier Airlines (VASX: FRNT) today announced in conjunction with VATUSA, that it has been selected to carry the Virtual Olympic Torch as part of the VATUSA torch relay across the United States on Saturday June 5th, 2004. Virtual Frontier’s leg will bring the torch from St. Louis, Missouri to Salt Lake City, Utah linking the earliest location of the Olympic Games in North America to the most recent. The torch will depart St. Louis at 8:40 PM (local time), arriving in Salt Lake City at 10:55 PM (local time), being carried by Virtual Frontier Airlines CEO Jeff Turner. For over 1100 miles the torch will be in the company of Griswald the Bear, featured on one of Virtual Frontier’s new Airbus 318 aircraft.

“Being able to carry the torch for the Summer Games is something that only occurs every four years, and it is an honor to do so.”, stated Turner. “The opportunity to fly between St. Louis and Salt Lake City and cross the heartland of America with the torch flying above is something that everyone should be proud of, not just within Virtual Frontier Airlines but throughout the entire aviation community.”

Virtual Frontier Airlines had previously announced the expansion of service from St. Louis to Cancun and Los Angeles, and from Salt Lake City to Cancun. These new flights complement the existing regularly daily scheduled service to Denver.
