    Default Dash 8 Flight Characteristics

Hi all. Just flew a Dash 8 (not the default, by b. Disher, www.ausim.com) on a short night/bad weather flight. I found that it seemed very sensitive in the elevator, and while at partial or full thrust, the plane wants to bank left, and when in an idled decent, the plane wants to bank right.

Is this how a real Dash 8 behaves, or is this a simulation of a plane which isn't that accurate? I haven't noticed any other planes in my fleet with this performance (all my prop planes pull to the left on take off, but that's P-force, and now that I think of it, haven't flown any of my jets yet!)

It was a short flight, but being at night, and in very low visibility, I felt like I was chasing the needles and numbers trying to keep the plane level and on course. Had it been a longer flight, I would have hired the autopilot, but for just a 30 minute flight, hmmm.

    Any thoughts?

Default RE: Dash 8 Flight Characteristics

    Hi,

I have 8000 PIC time in a Dash-8-102. Is is VERY sensitive in pitch. Its a fingers-only airplane. As far as the other problems go, the real DH-8 does not exhibit these characteristics. Maybe you should trim it out a bit?
