    Default Using LDC Panels

Does anyone know if LDC panels from old notebook computer can be used as a monitor to display instruments in a cockpit? I have a couple of unused notebooks with perfectly useable screen. I wonder if there is a reasonably simple way of wiring them up to a VGA plug and using driving them from the card?

I figure that they would make good small screen displays.

If you can find a way, let us know so all of us with old laptops lying aroung can get some use out of them!

I've done extensive searches several times, but there is no standard for the connections on an LCD panel - every manufacturer has their own way of addressing the screens. There are manufacturers out there who have come up with cards that will drive certain screens, but the cards are typically based on an older chipset that is not much use on a more modern PC, and is typically a lot more expensive than a standard VGA card.
