Hello from Holland: Can somebody explain how to get the most realistic forward view? Do I need a beamer? I read somewhere that somebody used a mirror that reflected the view, but how does that work?
Or is it enough to use more monitors with wideview?

I think you mean a collimating setup...

what this does is - briefly...

an over head monitor mounted with tube pointing down.

the image is reflected away from the user by a 45 degree angle (sort of)one way mirror on to a spherical mirror, this then is what the user looks at.

this gives a trmendous depth to the image and magnification.

VERY VERY expensive.

wideview is great but you need multiple pcs = cost.

the best would be wideview with 3 collimated displays.

Thanks capt'n. Maybe you can sponsor me with your treasure?
Anyway maybe I have to start with a couple of PC's. I have a 1000 mhz with 640 RAM and a Geforce 2MX 32 mb as server and tow 366 mhz with 160 RAM and Voodoo Banshee as clients. Would that do?
Maybe later I can get me a LCD projector. If I project it on a screen, will that also give a good view?

By the way: maye you can answer a question: my master-pc is getting slower and slower. At first I've had a benchmark value (with my Magena-software) of 600, and at the moment it is not more than 100. I defragmented my harddisks, I used Norton windoctor, but no result. Everything is faltering e.g. the FS 2002 ATC voices, my DVD view etc. Its kind a frustrating.
