Default Only one hop list on the flightsim server??

    Hi Simmers,

I flew my first "hop" on the flightsim server last night, which was in Hawaii and I learned a lot more about navigating.
This morning, I wanted to fly another "hop" and the same one popped up.
Is there only ONE hop available on this server?? If so, will there be any more soon?

    Hey Roln,

There are seven "hops" total on the list. According to the Hop List Status Page you completed them all at 11:13pm 12/31/06,,,,Happy New Year!

Make sure that you log onto the server with the same name each time and go to the last airport you landed and the server should pick up where you left off and give directions to the next "hop".

In order starting at PHNL Honolulu they are PHMK Molokai /PHNY Lanai
PHOG Maui /JHM Kapalua /PHLU Kalaupapa /PHNG Kaneohe and then back to PHNL Honolulu.

It's kinda tight but you can do it in a Lear, however if your not in a hurry and like to take lots of screenshots try them in the Piper Cub or whatever you like that flys low and slow. Also if the airport is close enough to the water(PHLU/PHNG/PHNL,,,not ot sure about the other four), you can do water landings in an amphib and get directions to the next "hop". Pretty cool to mix'um up(land and water).

    Best regards,

    Hi Salt-Air,

I guess I didn't know/understand the hop procedure. I flew ALL the hops, instead of one.....and I did it using a Cessna 182. Just for the fun of it....I may fly them again using a twin-engine plane.

I enjoyed this first hop experience a lot and now I'd like to find other ones to fly. Evidently, hop flying isn't very popular?? Seems like only a few people do them??

    Hey Roln,

Betcha I've flown that one a hundred times in everything from an autogyro to a zepplin and a still like to use the hoplist to pass the time or try out a new aircraft.

The C182 is a great plane for these hops and a great plane to learn how to fly using instruments as well. The Baron is a nice step up,,another great aircraft for all this.

There have been at least two other hoplists on this server that I can remember. One was in the French Alps and the other was in the Canary Islands,,,not sure ,,,think there were more hops per list also.

It's up to the moderators ,here,(Ed-LJ922/Geoff-CS33/Mike-N3306TX) what is used as a hoplist. You could come up with one yourself and ask them to take a look at it,,,,maybe they'll run it for a while.

Don't know if you've got FSHost Spy loaded or not , but there are a ton of other servers on-line 24/7 with lots of different hopists. Some of them go around the world with several hundred hops and some are more like this one,,,just in a diffrent part of the globe.

If you don't have it loaded up ,,and that's what you want to do, it's a free download that basically lists all the FSHost servers that are up, who's on them, what they're flying and where,,,and a little bit about the server including a description of the "list" they are running and most important what there IP is so you can join and fly.

Here's the link: http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshostspy/ just unzip the file and run the exe and you'll be able to see all that are running,,,,right now there are 164 servers.

    Also check out
http://www.flightsim.com/dc/dcboard....sg_id=38&page= right here at the FlightSim multi-player forums.

Then come on out to one of our monthly events and have a ball with the rest of us. It's free too and everyone is very helpful. It's a fantastic place to learn and have a great time with a bunch of simmers like yourself. I'm selling nothing all this is free. Glad to share it with you.

Should be a few of us on this weekend,,,see ya there!

    Best,

I don't have it handy on this computer - but the run through the Alps at the end of last year's RTW Race would make a great afternoon of flying to add to the hop list.

    Hi Reggie,

How've you been? I was actually thinking along the same lines using one of the RTW routes from previous years. That would keep someone busy for quite a while.

Meanwhile, I have put together a hop list flying around some US Forestry Service airstrips in Idaho. Should be up on the server in the next day or so.

Eventually, I'll try to get some longer hops up for jet flights.

    Enjoy...

New hop list flying around some US Forestry Service airstrips and mountains in Idaho is now up. Start at KLLJ (Challis), then type "?hop" for first hop instructions.

    Hi Mike,

I started the new hop list yesterday and found out in a hurry....it's a real challenge for a beginner!! After skidding off the runway with a Beachcraft Baron, I switched to a Cessna 172 and continued on. I think I need an STOL type aircraft like the Maule, which Ollie is flying?? I'm ready to take off this morning on #21 on the list.

On one of the airstrips, I tried slewing and found out in a hurry, that's a NO-NO......and never did that again! LOL.

I don't remember which hop it was, but I easily landed at the wrong airstrip! I felt pretty stupid....until I found out two other pilots did the same thing!

Thanks for adding a new hop to the server!!!

    You're welcome Roln.

I thought you guys might like something a little more scenic and challenging. I haven't flown all the hops myself, but will work on it when I have time.
