We had a great fly-in and golf tournament in Augusta on April 10. Eight golfers were in the competition. Dan_T-Wolf joined us for the flight only.
According to the rules we set up, each of the golfers played the fourth round of the Masters Golf Tournament, beginning the round with the score that the tournament leader had at the end of the third round. Tiger Woods was the third round leader at 205, having posted earlier rounds of 74, 66, and 65.
Tiger went on to tie Chris DiMarco with a tournament total of 276 and then won the Masters with a birdie on the first tie breaking hole. But, while Tiger was shooting a 71 in the last round, Sandman fired a six under par 66. So Dave_Sandman not only won the virtual round, but he beat the Tiger too.
Dave receives a one year First Class Membership to FlightSim.com and will have his name inscribed on a trophy in our Trophy Room. Congratulations on winning this tournament in fine style. Some screenshots from the event are included below.
Sandman makes a careful layup.
And holes out the shot.
Carol tries to follow suit.
And gives herself a round of applause when she hits it.
Austin sets up a tough shot for birdie.
John prepares a great shot from the sandtrap. Note that several of us were in the trap too.
Mike had a rough day out there.
Guess we owe John and Mike a rematch. Maybe we can all get an invite back to Augusta and play again. Or maybe we'll head for one of the ocean courses or go to St. Andrews over in Scotland. All in all, as a group, we did pretty well in Augusta and made enough in tournament winnings to play anywhere we like. See you all next time.
