    Default SANDMAN WINS THE MASTERS

We had a great fly-in and golf tournament in Augusta on April 10. Eight golfers were in the competition. Dan_T-Wolf joined us for the flight only.

According to the rules we set up, each of the golfers played the fourth round of the Masters Golf Tournament, beginning the round with the score that the tournament leader had at the end of the third round. Tiger Woods was the third round leader at 205, having posted earlier rounds of 74, 66, and 65.

Tiger went on to tie Chris DiMarco with a tournament total of 276 and then won the Masters with a birdie on the first tie breaking hole. But, while Tiger was shooting a 71 in the last round, Sandman fired a six under par 66. So Dave_Sandman not only won the virtual round, but he beat the Tiger too.

Dave receives a one year First Class Membership to FlightSim.com and will have his name inscribed on a trophy in our Trophy Room. Congratulations on winning this tournament in fine style. Some screenshots from the event are included below.

    Sandman makes a careful layup.

    And holes out the shot.

    Carol tries to follow suit.

And gives herself a round of applause when she hits it.

Austin sets up a tough shot for birdie.

John prepares a great shot from the sandtrap. Note that several of us were in the trap too.

Mike had a rough day out there.

Guess we owe John and Mike a rematch. Maybe we can all get an invite back to Augusta and play again. Or maybe we'll head for one of the ocean courses or go to St. Andrews over in Scotland. All in all, as a group, we did pretty well in Augusta and made enough in tournament winnings to play anywhere we like. See you all next time.

    Hey Ed,

Thanks so much for a fantastic day of it at Augusta. Great fun and good times with friends. Very few things that anybody can count on these days. Seems like your outings are a sure thing. You guys are battin' a thousand, just keep 'um coming please. By the way a great job with the ATC as well all things considered.

Congrats to sandman, a super showing for someone who just got into the program a month or so ago. Well done Mate! Six under even after a hand full of bogeys!

A rematch is always welcomed by more than just Mike and John,,,LOL.
Can't wait for the next Golf/Fly-in. Pebble Beach would be nice,,(hint)

Included a screenie of me headed that way from KORF about to turn westbound at Wilmington, NC still around 45mins out.

    Best All,

Had a great time playing golf with CarolJ, Austin and John. Didn't expect to win, especially with Carol doing her best to distract us fellows from concentrating on our game.

My thanks to Ed for encouraging me to enter the golf section after I recently bought the game and he helped me get it connected in multiplayer.

Anyway, it was just pure fun to have the company of such a terrific bunch of guys (and Carol).

What's the bet that I get my backside kicked well and truly next time. I know for sure that Austin has me squarely in his sights. :)

    Regards to all

    Hey sandman,

Don't think that I have you in my sights mate, but I sure won't be turning my back to ya,,,,,,LOL. You played a fine match that's why you won, same as any other competition, the best man wins. You gotta think that after you got in front of everybody, all you had to watch was Miss Carol, no worries. The rest of us had to watch you, her, and ourselves too.

Hats off to you my friend, for a job well done.

    Hey,
Soooooper win there Dave, You supprised a few, including myself. I am really glad you managed to get to participate in the golf portion of the event, especially as you do have a lot of problems connecting to FS Mulitiplayer over dial up and you rarely see an event to the end. We really appreciate your patience and your consideration for others in the session. Hope one day that Broadband hits your local exchange.
You are a most deserving winner, if not for your persistence alone :-) Always great having you along.

Thanks to everyone else who took part also, You guys are the bomb (as they say)

FTR: This event was arranged and organised by Ed (LJ922) alone. (I was otherwise engaged for most of the month) I'm sure you will all tip your hats and raise a glass to Ed for pulling this one off.

    I certainly will

    Thanks again all..........

    Best

A great time was had by all. And yes, I was having a rough day with golf. Maybe it was because I was so concentrated on the live video streaming of the game to the web and then the family decided to download movies, music, and whatever on the other computers. Man, did my router get a workout that day.

Anyway, looking forward to the next one.

    Hey Mark,

Hope all's well on the homefront. Sure did miss you out there at Augusta. You shoulda seen LJ922 at the helm (ATC), great job.

Better hang on to that trophy from Kapa cause there's a new dood about to rule the golf kingdom. Don't like to tell names and tales, as they used to say, but his initials are sandman.

Yeah, and he didn't even drink any of the "cans of whoopass" that "sonic" brought along. Although I'm not really sure what's in those cans is actually worth drinking anyway. Might want to change brands there Geoff?

Take care man, good to hear from you. Hope to see ya soon,

Thanks for the kind comments, gents.

Austin, now you got me thinking. Maybe it was the Aussie brand of Happy Juice that made the difference. Better not let you blokes get your hands on any of it or you could all be playing sudden death playoff holes for years :D :D :D :D

    Regards to all.

There was something strange in my cans of woopass. It tasted like salt water. :-)

    That's my excuse anyway........:-):-):-)
