This is the official 2005 Microsoft Flight Simulator Around-The-World Race thread for team Flightsim. Use this thread to claim and declare free the baton. Once this thread reaches around 80 replies, please copy this header into a new thread and name it in sequence with this thread (that is, the second thread would be Thread #2).
For the official rules to this race, please see http://mw0.ath.cx/~matt/RTW/home.htm
Pilots are invited to fly multiplayer on Bushnet for the start of the race. The ip address is: 24.30.147.25.
You, the racers, are about to start a journey which will take you to the farthest corners on Earth. You will be pushed to your limits as aviators by changing weather conditions, difficult airports, and challenging aircraft. Urging you forward throughout the race will be the spirit of competition. I've recused myself from racing this year, given the power inherent in my position and the potential temptation to abuse it. I will, however, be following you all around the world in the multiplayer sessions when I can. I'll see you all back at Cairo at the conclusion of the race to declare this year's champion. I wish the best of luck to each team and every pilot. Enjoy the race. Above all, this is to have fun. I think that if we all follow the rules, we cannot possibly fail in this respect.
The baton is free at Cairo International Airport, HECA.
Go.
