Default Photos of Tracy Arm Fjord Near Juneau Valley International

    Hi All,

The Tracy Arm Fjord and South Sawyer Glacier provide outstanding scenery. Here are a few shots of the area.

Was right here in this place nine years ago on a cruise ship. That experience makes the Juneau Valley International Airport scenery all the more real.

    Best regards,

Wow! Is that a beta of FS10?

    Nice!

Just wondering, could you use pictures like these to plaster realistic looking bitmaps onto the mountains, at least for the places on the photos?

The wife says it was April when we were there. High season is in mid to late summer. It was still fairly cold, but you must remember that we are from Georgia, so we think everything is cold. Still, many of the waterfalls were frozen or partly frozen on our trip.

BTW, the shots above are internet photos, not mine. But, mine are virtually identical. Here are three that we took at the end of Tracy Arm at the South Sawyer Glacier.

The bridge officer is preparing for a 180 degree turn to come alongside the glacier on the starboard side.

A shot of the glacier during the turn.

Close to the glacier now. We are on the top deck of the cruise ship and not even close to the top of the ice.

And just think... you can now fly there every day or take your speedboat. Welcome to Juneau Valley!

    Best,

    Ed
