    Default Free FSNavigator

Unfortunately, looks like FSNav will never be updated. But for those who haven't purchased it, here is some good news (from FSNav support forum):

    hello all

i am steel around but now have decided to move from fsnavigator onto good
    other things.

my time with navigator is been very good and i thanks you all for your wisdom
and helping during the many years of programme building.

I can longer no more offer any assistance but i am leaving the programme
to be downloaded free from next week onwards. there will be only the one
registration code withing the download which will allow the programme to
be used in full. Thank you all again and good best wishes for the future

    Helge

That's the news I have dreaded for a long time. FSNav is the best add on ever developed for Flight Simulator in my humble opinion. We can only hope someone will come along and continue the fine work that Helge has done for us all.

Thanks for sharing the news, Mark.

    Best regards,

    Ed

Good news for those who don't already own it.
Bad news for those who have already purchased it ( Although my money was well spent indeed )
    Bad news for FS2006.

Me thinks that Helge has had an insight of the new version of FS and he knows that there will be a similar program included in the sim straight out of the box..........Maybe eh?

In any case, Personal thanks to Helge for the hours of time saved using this fantastic addon. I wouldn't have been half the places without it. I kinda seen it as my own personal Tardis.....:-)
Good on ya Helge. We all have to move on but it aint so bad when you leave a legacy behind.

I have to agree with Ed. FSNav is/was THE best addon for FS by far..........

    Hey Erik,
How ya doin', It's bin a while.
Was thinkin about you the other day. I am spending 3 days in Vegas towards the end of May 2005 and thought I might give you a shout and we could go for a beer or something. What say?

    Regarding FSNav.
Granted, it could be a hoax but I doubt he would let someone post a hoax message on his own forum. ( Without deleting it anyway )
He might have moved house / location, and just got a typo with the email address. It's possible.

Who knows........I guess it's a case of let it develop and see what the outcome is.

Does seem a little fishy though, as you say.
    Best

    Hi Ted,

FSNav works with FS9 and earlier MSFS versions only .. it operates within the simulator itself.

In other words it's not a free standing program ... as long as FS9 is installed and working, then FSNav will work fine.

You will need to have FSUIPC installed ahead of time ... the freeware version (3.999) is all you will need:

Yes, it works on Windows 7 with FS2004, but not with FSX.
