Thread: Grumman SA-16 Albatross

    Default Grumman SA-16 Albatross

Also known as the HU-16. The US Air Force called them SA-16's. My Uncle flew them many years ago in the USAF. Primarily for Air-Sea rescue operations.

New freeware model available at Avsim - filename is grumman_hu-16_albatross_2.0.zip - there is also an update file - grumman_hu-16_2.0_supplement.zip - which adds the sound files and some gauge updates.

    Enjoy! ............................................ Mike :-)

Nice post my friend :9 ,I like the "new" Grumman very much, I tried it out in FSX, works great as long as you stay out of the water...

Needs some tweaking on the contact points...

    Peer,

there is a supplemental file with a revised set of contact points, as well as sounds and a paint kit. It is available now.

Also: another U.S. Navy livery is available here

    Jan,
Nice shots. Too bad about splash. (Hint: until it lands good, turn off crash detection-that will save you a lot of headaches.)
