as you fly it onto the runway. and woe betide u if yer airspeed falls much below 200! hadnt flown captain sim 104 in a long time, and i enjoyed the challenge of re-learning to land it well....took quite a few tries to get the hang of it again (which i love)! enjoy

Nice shots, love the angle in the approach shot.

I think i've only managed to land that one once, but then in real live it was called the widow maker.

thanks everybody! leo, re your "widowmaker" comment: there's a very cool book out there called "the blond knight of germany", bio of erich hartmann, top scoring fighter ace of all time w 352 kills. after his release from russian prison camp (hed been shot down and captured before ww2s end) he became commander of the new german luftwaffe, and after test flying the starfighter himself, he recommended against its aquisition, saying it was just to tough to fly and land for most of his fledgling pilots. his wishes were ignored and the high casualty rates that ensued in europe contributed healvily to the planes bad rep. i grew up reading voraciously about aviation, can remember that book clearly even though i havent read it in decades. of course, it had its casualties in the states too, not the least of which was the tragic midair with one of the xb70 valkyrie prototypes.....

but it was still a hell of a plane!
