thought maybe if i put it on my other hard drive it wouldnt mess up my fs9 like the newer demo did - and thankfully fs9 intact this time. besides, all you guys were driving me crazy with curiosity to see how my machine would handle it, lol. still much tweaking and research to do, but heres my first official shot, hope yall like it. had to make it so small to stay under 100 kb, the water textures will do that

thanks, mike. just so ya know: my system is a p4 3.4ghz extreme edition with 2gigs of ddr400 ram and a 256meg radeon x800. runs fs9 very smoothly but fsx (so far, at least, still got some tweaks left to try) with enough stutters and other problems that once my curiosity about various locations is satisfied, i probably wont touch it again till i upgrade, and thats at least a year away (and it sure as hell wont be dictated by a computer game whenever i do upgrade). i know a lot of folks have much newer more powerful systems than mine but for those of you whose specs are comparable, dont expect it to run even half as fast as fs9.

Very nice shot Phil, I love composition and water effects. The FSX demo damaged my FS9 also, parts of the Caribbean area are still messed-up.
I think waiting for the upgrade is a good idea. I bought the "the luxe" version but I'm not satisfied at all.

I love the water texture. But the wave height looks to be about 50+ feet in San Francisco bay. Not a day to be out sailing.

yes i saw that, carlos, thankyou. unfortunately it was about setting initial zoom level, not camera distance but thanks for the effort.
