    Default Heavy Crosswinds

On a recient flight from Dallas to Miami. Cruising at 32,000 with winds at 138 kts. At one point, they reached 150 kts.

Woah, crazy winds! I had the same deal too... I flew from FL to AR, and had a little over 100 knots of wind on the nose! GS was down to the 300ks...

That's actually a fault with FS2k2 (doesn't happen with FS2k4). You'd never see nothing like that in the real world...

Actually, I beg to differ. You may be right in commenting that you never see anything like that as it relates to the position of the airplane pictured in the shot, but as far as windspeed, take a look at this link...

Don't get me wrong here. Yes you have high wind speeds at high altitudes that can pose a crosswind component on the aircraft in cruise but contrails never flow behind the aircraft like what's pictured above in normal operation. The only way you'll see something like that is if the pilot kick in the rudder and yawed the plane for a brief second or two at 32,000ft.

I was just about to ask the same thing lol! Nice shot though.

I was flying the other day with a 150+ kt crosswind in a plane that can barely hit that speed itself. It was crabbed at about 45o, or at least when it wasn't being tossed around violently.
