Not long out of London Heathrow (EGLL) en-route to Chicago O'Hare (KORD) during a step climb to FL350 currently FL310 and running at M0.86. Just as well it is comfy as that was a 7 hour flight. All main lights out to save eyestrain watching the "clocks" and I do like the idea that the three main glass cockpit instruments can be enlarged to see the small print, bet they don't do that with their company contracts? :-)

I like the MAAM DC-3 as well although I did concede to one modification and that was to add the auto mixture control.

    Hi Ron!

Nice photo, but why pull down the shade I can't see anything out of the window!:P I love that photo shot! Why watch the "clocks", watch out the window instead so you don't hit anything!
    Happy Flying Happy landing!

Go ahead and check my photo's Ron!

    Hey Ron,

I'm with you. Give me a nice long flights in the comfy office of a 747 or 777 across the Atlantic any day of the week. Though it can seem quiet up there, it's a great place to think!

    Nice pic.

    Alf

I ain't a shade it is called night and there is not a lot to look at at FL310 over the Atlantic.

Just wanted a different type of screenshot instead of the usual, and I am NOT saying they are boring far from it, side, rear, front view of the aircraft paint sheme. Or the ususal take-off, touch down shots that abound this forum, again nothing wrong with that but so may times I have seen a really nice aircraft someone has posted extolling the virtues of how good it looks and how well it performs and when I, or you download it only to find that the sound is aliased to the C172, not very impressive for a certain russian jet which looked good but sounded like a sick diesel engine or the aircraft that uses an aliased panel within FS9 default aircraft thereby completely ruining a good aircraft model and means extra work for me trying and in a lot of cases failing to find a reasonable panel and/or sound package.

Go and have a look at the historic airliners site where ALL the aircraft have ALL the panels and ALL the sound sets in one nice easy to view site so you can have a little or as much as you like. I believe these days that a panel is probably the easiest part of an FS9 aircraft to reproduce compared to the model and cfg files and yet is the least thought on a developers mind and also of the many folks who post lovely pictures of their "favourite" aircraft and listen to a jet at M1.2 sounding like a C172 and a panel that doesn't even look like it belongs on a rickshaw let alone a beautiful jet.

All I was proving is that many of the viewers/contributers have forgotten that an aircraft isn't just a paint scheme on the outside of a body but also what goes into that body and this particular aircraft I have chosen is the excellent PMDG 747-400 PAX version and does have all the right sounds, does have an accurate panel complete with subsidiary panels, does have interior views that are enjoyable, it does fly as close to the real thing as possible and those things are worth more to me that many of todays wonderful aircraft.

I also own most of the PSS Airbus range for the same reasons along with the new ESDG range which are now leading the way in glass cockpit technology and interior views, just take a peek inside the Citation X where a young woman sits patiently in her seat awaiting pre-flight checks to be completed as per the book almost, and then when the brakes are released she automatically puts her safety belt on and shortly after wheels-up after take-off proceeds to start working on her laptop and drinking the complimentary champaigne. That is why I believe we should be looking more into what these downloads offer and we can only hope that developers can find the time and inclination to take on-board the comments and even better if they can find the time to promote ech other's work and support each other by using said products. We don't care who made the panel, we don't care who produced the sounds but it would be nice if we could have them altogether and make our own minds up.

Think: If we in the real world of airline transport accepted the same criteria we would be boarding and sitting down to a plate of cold, soggy fish and chips whilst we sit for several hours on a wooden box/chest just like they used to do on the DC-3's. ;)

I love it Ron! I do fly a lot the PMDG 747, though I have no time to make such long trips...Nevertheless, I still enjoying it for two hours rides.

    Ron!

    Sorry, you got me wrong!
    I was kidding with you!
I do like it because I don't know
how you got it so dark outside the window.
I never got it so dark then I'm flying
and the intstrument are crystal clear with nice
    backlight.
