Snapped this one seconds before touchdown at KSNA (John Wayne-Orange County) today about 1530. Strong storm battering SoCal right now, and I landed (successfully, if a little hard) right in the middle of it. Thank God for ILS!
Happy New Year!

Cool shot, but actually that's not really that bad, looks like at least a mile vis, it gets a little tougher when it's less than a half mile.
cool shots, i surely would have missed my landing... :+

ATIS listed the visibility at 3/4 mile. I wouldn't complain at a normal airport, but if you've ever landed at KSNA, the 5700 foot 19R is one of the shortest commercial jet runways in the nation, so putting it down early is a white-knuckle affair. Especially when you're going 140 mph!
It was fine. I just landed a little hard because John Wayne's runway is so short (5700 feet) there's no room to delay getting wheels down, spoilers up, and thrust reversers on. Otherwise, you risk hurtling off the end of the runway (i.e. SWA at Midway).
Ouch, that's some nasty weather! :o
Nice landing!
