Firebird VA-304 A-6E Intruder

Kazanori Ito has released a freeware A-6E for FS9. I have wanted one for a long time so you can be sure I am pleased.

Interesting - his paint/livery of choice is of the VA-304 "Firebirds" which was part of my old reserve Airwing CVWR/CAG 30.

Took her up for a carrier shakedown flight - I botched the first landing attempt - way too right of the deck , so I boltered and got it right on the 2nd attempt.

Would love to see a more accurate and sharper repaint of the 304 aircraft! Hint...hint....Mike M!

Great to have her in my hangar and including some squadron insignia for your viewing pleasure.

My former Hornet Squadron,VFA-305 was dis-established in 1994 and this Squadron VA-304 has seen it's twilight as well, unfortunately.

Nice shots! I see this Intruder carries Ito's trademark "shade gradients" on the flaps... :+ I assume that's just a facet of the textures and not part of the model somehow.
