I haven't seen this mentioned before, but has anyone else had problems with stuttering (horrible frame rates, ie- 1fps) in certain geographic locations at dawn/dusk?
For instance, last night I was flying down the Florida coast at low level (3000 ft) in a 737, at sunset. From Cape Canaveral heading south, all was smooth until I got near Palm Beach and then the game started stuttering horribly. Once I got a ways past Palm Beach, all was fine again down the rest of the coast past Miami.
After playing around a bit, I found that what causes the stuttering is the time of day....if I set the time to the middle of the day, Palm Beach area flies smoothly.
I've noticed a similar stuttering problem in the past in one or two other areas...but at the moment I can't recall exactly where they were (Europe somewhere), and I also am not sure if I flying at dawn/dusk at the time either.
Anyone else notice this bug? btw, my machine is a Athlonxp1600, 512 meg ram, GeForce3 ti200, soundblaster live...just in case someone wants to tell me it's a geforce3-only glitch. :-)
