extra chrome on radeon 8500

If I turn chrome effects on in FS2002, I get this:

I have an ATI Radeon 8500 DV, with the latest 6025 drivers from ATI. Can anyone tell me any options or settings I need to change in the main Windows XP/ATI display settings? Or in the simulators display settings? For now I just turn chrome off, but that just makes it look like FS2000. Also I have the display at 1600X1200X32, but the shadow is solid black. Isn't the 32 bit resolution supposed to make the shadows transparent?

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON Feb-10-02 AT 01:47PM (EDT)[/font][p]I had exactly the same problem with my Voodoo 5500. Somebody on here came up with the answer, and it fixed it for me. Each aircraft has to be edited individualy, but it is really easy.

You need the GMAX tool within the Pro edition, I don't think it is in standard?

Go to your FS2002 folder and find gmax/flightsim/gamepacks/flightsim Then imagetool

Then File...open/fs2002/aircraft/c172/texture/c172_t.bmp

(c172 needs to be changed for each aircraft name)

Then image->alphachannel->invert

Save it, and you should find the chrome effects for that Aircraft are as they should be.

This needs to be done in every texture folder for each aircraft, I.E Texture, Texture1, Texture 2 etc

Hope it works for your card as it did for mine.
