    Default IL-76 Landing

This time touching down at Chisinau in Moldova. I'd love to say this shocker was the result of devilish winds but actually it was mainly my inability to fly this aircraft very well! :-lol :-roll

The hardest thing about the IL-76 is that it has a steep nose-down approach attitude, in fact nosewheel-first landings aren't that uncommon in real life with this aircraft. :)

    Bit of a wobbly one...

If I was any more off-centre that Turkish A320 would have had a new fuselage accessory! :-lol

    Comments welcome! :-wave :-wave

PS. Before anyone mentions it, yes I am aware that there is a newer, better looking version of this aircraft available.

Can't pass up on a post like this, Kiwi! Lovely looking model! I have a commercial IL airliner installed. I wonder if this is the predecessor. What's the file name for this one?

Very nice. There's something sexy about a huge hunk of iron like that. So, how come you didn't land nose first?

    Thanks! :)

Kris - I got this one off of Varnavskiy Sergey's site. I can't remember the address but a google search for his name will find it. :) (I'm not certain that's how his name's spelled either, but if you search on Flightsim.com for IL-76 you'll find repaints for this aircraft with the correct spelling! ;))

Coffee - I'm mainly used to flying GA, trust me, whenever I land a big bird like this I'm tense enough without trying anything fancy! :-lol There are some pics on Airliners.net of nosewheel first landings with the IL-76, very spectacular! :D
