Default Taking the "car" out for a spin

Some of you "older" people may remember this craft from the 1960's (hey, remember black and white TV??).

This thing just does not want to land. Engine at idle, set for verticle take-off, retro's on and parking break engaged and it still crawls along at 1 mph. I spend weekends just figuring out how to slow down enough to land properly. It's a real challange.

Fire up the engines, lots of fire and smoke! Yeah, that's the ticket!

Hatch closed! It's gonna get pretty windy!

The modern cockpit always comes with a DVD player, right?

    Racing the mountain. Who's faster?

Yes, land on the side of the mountain. Looks like a good spot for lunch! :)

Water landing. By the way, if you let the engine idle, no retro-rockets, breaks, and engine at horizontal setting, this little thing scoots along at 65 knots.

    Take off for another adventure!

    Hope you enjoyed!

He he, that would be Mike Mercury, the test pilot in the series. Those were done with puppets, and while the looked a bit odd, you got used to them as a kid. ;)

They originally came out for FS98, and have vastly improved the graphics on the model since then.

    Thank you. :)

For those who wish to take her into space:

Of course, for that version, you'll need this:

For the Fireball XL5, for FL98 and FS200, go here:

Should work with 2004, though I haven't downloaded it yet.

Oh, and thanks for asking. :)
