Here are some pics from a flight from Creston (CAJ3) to Nelson (CZNL), British Columbia flying the Rutan Q200 ( q2no_vc.zip at avsim ). The weather turned a bit bad but I was able to land without incident. I decided not to adjust the tones and colours or lighting of these pics at all (just cropped, resized down and added one bit of sharpening to them all).

What's interesting about these pics is that they were taken with an old Geforce2 MX/MX400 (with 64 megs) I had stashed somewhere . Although my Radeon 8500 LE (128 megs) wasn't much newer than that I thought the GeForce would do much worse. The ground texture placement was actually better but the frame rates were lower. The ground shadows in full-screen were solid black and I had to run anti-aliasing from within FS2004 (the 2d panel didn't show right at full screen either). I also had to turn reflections off as the glass became like a mirror and wasn't see-through. I actually think I ike the haziness in the distance better than I'd noticed with the Radeon card.
Anyway, I figure now that my Radeon was probably having issues for a while (and was probably affecting the ground texture handling) and the other day FS2004 suddenly looked like this;

2d interface items within FS2004 looked ok and working with 2d on my computer was fine (other 3d games/sims showed the same messed up visuals). I checked my card's properties and it said 96 megs instead of 128 megs which was strange and I figure indicates a hardware problem on the card.
Looks like I'll be using the GeForce until the end of the month then will look for a new graphics card :-)
Sorry for the long spiel :-tongue
