Default Help! - FSNav and stuttering + a few other q's

I finally purchased FSNav 4.5 today and upon installing it I was horrified to find that FS2K2 is now stuttering very hard about every 5 secs while the FSNav module is loaded. It's like the video pauses and then starts up again real fast.

There's no reason this should be happening with the type of system I have:

    1.4 Ghz Athlon
    512MB DDR
    Gainward GeForce 3
    7200 RPM ATA100 Maxtor HD

If I unload the FSNav module, the game is back to being super smooth... what the heck is the problem?

    Other questions about FSNav:

    1. Is there a way to move the map without zooming back out and right-click gragging another area??

    2. Is there a way to write in airways instead of individualy entering each wpt. (IE start.J#.end)

    3. What is the correct procedure for making sure I have all the latest AIRAC and DP/STAR data?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

I had the same problem when I installed FSNavigator 4.50... I updated to 4.51 and still had the stuttering. Then I removed FSUIPC from the modules folder and that stopped the problem, FSNavigator runs flawlessly now. My system is a PCChips motherboard with 1333 Athlon 256 megs SDRAM and I am only using the onboard AGP at 4x with 8mb ram shared. Most settings maxed out and it runs great... only certain clouds cause a slowing of frame rates.

Doesn't FSNav require FSUIPC?? I know for a fact the DF737 does and that's about the only plane I ever fly...

Maybe you need a later revision of FSUIPC. It's up to 2.82!

FSNav does not require FSUIPC to work. I have tried the latest revision available through flightsim and the stuttering returns... maybe a problem with my shared graphics (I don't know). Next time I upgrade the motherboard I will utilize a GeForce 2, maybe 3 but I have heard that FS2002 doesn't utilize the features of the 3 and the 2 works wonderfully and costs less.

I too had stuttering problems after installing FSUIPC. I thought it started after upgrading VIA 4 in 1, but after removing FSUIPC the smoothness returned. I tried FSUIPC 2.8.0, 1, and 2 all with same results. :-(

Oh well, fortunately FSNav 3.0 does not require it and I'm a happy smoothie again. :-)
