from what i read it was actually the F-15 but they altered the outside shape of the plane to look like the F-18 Hornet. So really it has F-15 flight dynamics but with a body of a F-18. Still you don't even notice the difference.

Other interesting things.... all of the planes were flown by actual players. They got together and played an online game. Some days one would film video sequences and then other players would do it .. always alternating in order to get different cockpit shots, etc.

These guys really have great flying skills. Just look at how close they were flying. Like everyone.. the when they split it looks great. One of the best videos i have seen.
