Today was the first step in beginning my flight training. Flight simming is addicting, and I think real flying will be even more. Here are some images from my first day of actually piloting a 172R. My wife was allowed to sit in the back seat and take some of these images.

Congratulations and welcome to the club! Must be nice to fly a new (recent) 172! Glad to see another person take that first step. The C-182 RG I rent every week is old and tattered, but flies well and my GPS makes up for alot of her faults. Best wishes for your flight training !!!:-wave

It really is an awesome feeling. I have been wanting to do this since I was 16. Ill be 32 this month. I have waited long enough. This was out of KLZU. I have one more shot since you might recognize the lake, its Lanier:

Hi!

Congrats:-) I remember my first flight and how exciting it really was. Now you have the bug and you will never be able to get ride of it:-) The next thing you know you will have done your first solo and then have your licence in no time. It all happens in a flash. The first flight you will never forget.

Well, I thought I'd add to the RYY frenzy. I actually learned to fly there about 6 years ago. I'd say there's nothing like being a student pilot and landing with that big quarry on the side of the runway to mess with your approach. Strangely, I recognized the setup of the roads from the second shot. Good luck with your training and enjoy!
