Wow nice pics, there is a big difference in the meshes, but that also relates to large downloads.

Interesting ... though whenever you compare a 38 meter mesh with a 76 meter then the 38m will shine. :) Would like to see FSGenesis' freely downloadable 38 meter West Coast &/or Rocky Mountain mesh (available here @ FlightSim.com) compared against this other quality 38m mesh by Mr. Taburet. THAT would be most interesting. Thanks ...

You are aware, of course, that 38.2m terrain is twice the resolution as 76.4m terrain?

You are comparing apples and oranges. ;-)

In effect, 38m mesh is 4 times the resolution of 76m, is it not? 4 times as many reference points. Thanks ...

    Justin,

Well aware of that. However, knowing the quality of your product and the care you put into it and your customers (myself included), I wasn't expecting such a difference.

And please let me make it clear I'm not trying to compare apples to apples, and I'm not in any way trying to make any crticisms/judgements about FSG. Justin provides a Class A product. I just happen to own the FSG 76m (not the 38m), so that's all I could use to compare.

Whenever I download new mesh, I always take before and after screenshots to make it easier to see the difference for myself.

IMO both Raimondo & Justin both do an EQUALLY fantastic job with the mesh that they produce, and to back up what Justin says, when the two 38m meshes do inevitably go head-to-head I don't honestly think they'll be much difference...

Yes, that's correct. But 38.2m is half of 76.4m. Adding another plane doubles the doubling. Or something like that.

But, all things being equal, the display of Raimondo's 38.2m and my 38.2m should be identical, assuming no processing errors.

Thanks for the timely response. From visiting your website for several years now if one thing is clear to me then it is the fact that customer support is always most important to you. You will have another happy customer soon at the beginning of the month. The worker is worth the wages.

Great products out here, both freeware & payware. It's All Good.

    Hi double t'

No problem. Just wanted to clarify that for those who might not completely understand the differences inherent in different LODs.

Good comparision, though, between the two levels of LOD in general.

Yes ... a head to head comparison of all 38.2 meter mesh WOULD be interesting to see. :) Am curious if they would all appear basically the same or would differences, albeit minscule, be readily apparent.

~ Translation: make it happen ~ :-cool
