I URGENTLY NEED HELP WITH FLIGHT SIM 2002

Would someone out there please help me. I just brought flight sim 2002 and i think it is the greatest flight sim. The problem is that well when i am up in the air everything loks so real and bad ##### but when i get near the ground like very close its like there are blue lines and stuff and it makes it hard to see on landing but as soon as i get off the ground they dissipear. I have tried fiddling with all settings over and over but i just cant get rid of the lines. They have only not been there for 1 flight and i had nothing to do with that so would someone please help me enjoy the greatest sim on earth to the fulliest like evertione else with there copy PLEASE
